Cape Town civil society and religious leaders say that the country's democratic process "is currently under severe assault by a group of political activists in the Western Cape. Because they were not chosen by the electorate, who preferred to have a different party ruling the Province, they have set in place a campaign to destabilise the Western Cape and make the Province ungovernable."
