U.S. Calls For Violence-Free Election In Nigeria

The US Consular in Nigeria, Jeffry Hawkins, has stressed the need for a violence-free election in Nigeria, saying that violence often mars the credibility of elections. "Nigerians deserve a free, fair and credible election and the only way to get it is by ensuring that the election is free of violence. The only way to get violence free election is for the INEC to be objective during the exercise. INEC is trying their best but they need to do more," he said.
