Rwandan R&B singer Mani Martin grew up an orphan. The six years he was living in an orphanage were marked by feelings of loneliness and silence. His song 'My destiny' recalls his difficult upbringing and how he struggled with having no parents to tell him right from wrong.

In this video edition of My Song, the self-named ambassador for orphans talks about his ambition to be a voice for Africa's voiceless children.

My Song showcases the personal stories behind the songs of Africa's most compelling musicians. You'll hear these musicians in their own words. No presenter, no interviewer - nothing to get in the way. Just African voices on African music.
