HIV Prevention in South Sudan Among Displaced Persons

The forcible displacement of people through conflict or disaster is associated with increased food insecurity, the destruction of livelihoods and resulting poverty. A new UNAIDS report finds that emergencies can disrupt care and treatment for people already living with HIV, and the negative impact of HIV on their health and livelihoods can increase the severity of the disasters they experience. In South Sudan, thousands of people living with HIV have been displaced by the ongoing conflict and struggle to continue their HIV treatment. For more information go to unaids.org
