Senegalese rapper Didier Awadi is considered as one of Africa's hip hop pioneers, who has been paving the way for the genre since 1984. Over the years he has used his music as a weapon to fight against injustice and for greater democratic freedoms.

One of his tracks that deal with these themes is 'Ma revolution', which stresses the need for a revolution for a better Africa. "The change I want to see is more democracy for the people, to give the power to the majority, so the youth", Awadi says in this week's episode of My Song.

My Song showcases the personal stories behind the songs of Africa's most compelling musicians. You'll hear these musicians in their own words. No presenter, no interviewer - nothing to get in the way. Just African voices on African music.
