After arresting 11,000 protesters, Ethiopian government results to fascism to prevent further uprising. For more than a month, Kenyan doctors and nurses have been on strike, demanding their 300 percent pay raise. Gambia's army chief has pledged his allegiance to Yahya Jammeh, who insists on not stepping down for the newly elected president. Adeola also gives a shout-out to 27 year old Christine Izuakor, a Nigerian-American who recently completed her PhD despite working full time and traveling full time. Lastly, Adeola gives a shoutout to 34-year-old former Somali refugee, Iian Omar. She made history by becoming the first Somali-American lawmaker in Minnesota.
