During the Covid pandemic many people lost their incomes and couldn't afford to buy enough food.

But millions of tons of food are thrown away in South Africa yearly. Much of this is still edible. During lockdown Chefs with Compassion used food that would have otherwise gone to waste to make nutritious meals for hungry people.
