278 scholars gathered on Mandela Day for the 2nd annual Soweto Schools MTB Challenge where riders gather to represent their school in an inter-school challenge. The purpose of the event is two-fold. First to introduce XCO mountain biking to the community as a sport, and secondly to identify and develop future talent. At the end of the day, it was Sekhukhune Nokuthula from Ibhongo and Mbatha Simphiwe from Bhukulani who reigned supreme. For their effort, they will graduate to the Soweto Cycling Club where they will receive support from the League and its official partners, Spur Steak Ranches, Signal Bikes and Anatomic Sportswear to participate in the Spur Schools MTB League.
