Abuja - Nigeria — Contracts for the construction of three joint border posts that will ensure the juxtaposition of border security personnel to facilitate the free movement of goods and persons has been signed.

The 47 million Euros posts, whose construction is being funded by the European Union, are located at Seme-Krake which is the border between Benin and Nigeria, Noepe between Ghana and Togo as well as Malanville which is the border between Benin and Niger. The projects are being funded from the 9th European Development Fund from a 63 million grant under the fund, part of which will also go towards supporting the development of railway infrastructure and capacity building.

The three posts are part of the seven originally envisaged for construction in the region to facilitate the intra-Community movement of goods and services by addressing the delays associated with the processing of travellers at the borders.
