Africa: Get Ahead of the Competition! Enter AllAfrica's "Caught in the Net" Contest Early

Bed nets prevent malaria.
11 May 2012

AllAfrica wants to show the world where and how bed nets are being put to good use. Next month we will launch a photo competition and announce judging procedures and prizes. Pre-launch entries will qualify for a bonus.

So get out your camera or phone and capture an image to share. Send us your best shot of someone "caught in the net", safe from deadly mosquitoes, and we'll feature your photos on our site – the most prominent source of news on Africa.

Use your imagination. Be creative, dramatic or funny. As long as the net is being used appropriately and protectively (no fishing nets or fancy hats, please!), and your picture conforms to generally accepted standards of decency, your photo is eligible.

There will be voting to find a favorite – and prizes for the winner and runners-up. But participating in the fight against malaria makes everyone a winner. Join in!

RULES:

+ Send your photo to: malaria2012ATallafrica.com (Please substitute the @ sign for AT.)

+ Enter as many times as you like, but ATTACH ONLY ONE PHOTO PER ENTRY.

+ Tell us where the photo was taken – the village/town and the nation. It must be one of Africa's 56 countries.

+ Tell us your real name and give us a telephone number for purposes of contacting you. (We will only contact you about your entry, and we will not share your information with any other organization.)

+ Tell us your age and occupation – where you are in school or your job if you are employed.

+ Write an appropriate caption for the photo. (Check out AllAfrica's World Malaria Day coverage for facts and inspiration.)

Good luck!
