Mainstreaming Climate Change in Bank Operations - Training Course On Climate Change, Energy and Transport

The African Development Bank (AfDB), in conjunction with International Development UEA and the Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research at the University of East Anglia UK, offered AfDB staff a training course on Climate Change, Energy and Transport on 26 to 27 April 2012 in Tunis, Tunisia.

AfDB managers received an overview of climate change issues and their implications on AfDB's work and investment decisions in the areas of energy and transport. Participants discussed how the AfDB can address climate change effectively in its programming and decision making in these areas. These issues were examined in the context of AfDB's vision for green growth and the need for "win-win" energy and transport decisions that deliver significant development benefits, as well as address global climate change.

This course followed two general courses on climate change for AfDB senior management in October 2011 and a course on Climate Change, Agriculture and Natural Resources held in January 2012.
