Heading for Kigali and the 20th Kwibuka, the official commemoration of the April 1994 genocide in Rwanda, the President of the African Development Bank, Donald Kaberuka, said on Friday, April 4:

"The African Development Bank stands with Rwanda in the country's continued pledge to 'remember, unite and renew' as it commemorates the 20th anniversary of the genocide of the Tutsi people in April 1994.

"Rwanda and her people cannot erase the pains of the past, but the country is the living proof of transformative power and energy. For 20 years, Rwandans have overcome many challenges: the African Development Bank has been and remains its valued partner."
