What conditions are required to enhance domestic resource mobilization, prudential budget and public expenditure management, fiscal policy planning and management, the deepening of financial markets, and strengthening supreme audit institutions in Africa?
The African Development Institute (ADI), in partnership with local and global institutions, will host a seminar of the Global Community of Practice (G-CoP) titled Policies for Enhancing Resilience and Transparency in Public and Private Finance Management in Post COVID-19 Africa. (see attached concept note).
The seminar will take place on 7 September 2020 from 14:00 to 17:00 (GMT) for delegates from the western hemisphere, and 8 September 2020, from 08:30 to 11:30 (GMT) for eastern hemisphere participants.
The partner institutions are the African Economic Research Consortium (AERC), Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, African Center for Economic Transformation (ACET), universities, think tanks and other global institutions, with contributions from the Bank Group's relevant departments.
The outcome of the seminar will be a synthesis of policy options available at national, regional, and global levels for dissemination to the Bank Group's member countries, partners, and stakeholders. The seminar will inform policy responses for building resilient public and private financial systems in post COVID-19 Africa.
