ARISE PORTS & LOGISTICS (ARISE P&L) inaugurated the largest sub-regional workshop specializing in railway equipment maintenance at the OWENDO MINERAL PORT (OMP).

The inauguration occurred in the presence of Gabonese President ALI BONGO ONDIMBA and his Togolese counterpart President FAURE ESSOZIMNA GNASSINGBE. As part of the inauguration, OMP's teams were pleased and honored to take H.E.M. FAURE ESSOZIMNA GNASSINGBE on a tour of their facilities.

OMP has grown to be a critical player in the Gabonese port sector. Thanks to its structuring investments, its volumes of transported manganese have exceeded 57%, a considerable amount that has further entrenched its leadership in the transportation of manganese in Gabon. Such expertise has a consequential hand in placing Gabon as a global manganese market leader. OMP furthermore assists the Gabonese state in implementing the Transformation Acceleration Plan in the rail and port sectors. It is an aspiring public policy led by H.E.M. ALI BONGO ONDIMBA and the government to encourage the modernization of Gabonese infrastructure.

"At OWENDO, I am proud to note that we have managed to create 1,300 jobs for Gabonese people and to equip 4 railway maintenance workshops to handle every type of breakdown in strict compliance with environmental standards. Furthermore, I am pleased to see that 50% of the department heads are women. This shows that we are committed to promoting gender equality and providing economic opportunities for women in Gabon," said President ALI BONGO ONDIMBA.

RANJAN KUMAR SAHU, Director of the OWENDO MINERAL PORT (OMP), stated: "We are proud of the inauguration of the new railway workshop in the presence of the Presidents of Gabon and Togo. This event represents an important milestone for OMP, as the new workshop will significantly improve the port's performance by allowing for faster and more efficient loading and unloading of goods, as well as an increased capacity to handle larger shipments."
