Nigeria: Nasarawa Assembly Passes 20 Resolutions

Nasarawa State House of Assembly passed several bills into law and made 20 resolutions within its first legislative year.

Its speaker, Hon Danladi Jatau, made this known during the end of the first legislative year recess yesterday in Lafia.

The speaker also said that during the period under review, the House confirmed over 50 appointments and made other far-reaching decisions in favour of the state's people.

According to him, the House received several bills, many of which were attended to while others were in various stages.

He stated that the significant achievements would not have been possible without the cooperation of all members who work in unison despite belonging to different political platforms.

"I want to thank my honourable colleagues for your understanding, support and cooperation.

"What we have achieved will not be possible without your support and cooperation," he said.

The speaker further commended his colleagues for providing the much-needed dividends of democracy to the people of their constituencies.

He appreciated Governor Abdullahi Sule for maintaining good working relationship with the House towards the development of the state.

He urged the people to pray and support Governor Sule in his tireless effort to move the state toward development and growth.
