U.S.-Africa Trade at a Crossroads

The U.S. Commerce Department office in Ghana is likely to be shut down due to budget cuts, says Corporate Council on Africa President Steve Hayes. This would close America’s commercial beachhead in one of Africa’s most thriving economies, Hayes writes in an AllAfrica guest column. Ghana's Trade Minister, in an interview, says investors should be looking more closely at her country, a functioning democracy with a fast-growing economy offering lots of opportunities.
