Malaria Vaccine Shows Promise

U.S. government health researchers report some success in early human testing of a malaria vaccine.

Joseph *, 9 months, has caught malaria and is currently admitted to Bambari Regional Hospital in Central African Republic where he is being treated. His mother Isabelle * didn’t have enough money to pay for his blood transfusion and so had to use the family’s bicycle as collateral on the promise that she will pay later. Save the Children are currently initiating operations at Bambari Hospital that will ensure children in need, like Joseph, have access to free health care and medications in the future.
