Major Step Towards a Malaria Vaccine

The European Medicines Agency has adopted a 'postive scientific opnion' for British-based pharmaceutical company GSK's malaria vaccine candidate. Although several further steps are needed before a vaccine will be approved for clinical trials, this decision is regarded by GSK and its partners as "an important milestone in the 30-year journey to discover a vaccine against malaria."

According to the The Nothing But Nets malaria survey, mosquito net use is high among Somali refugees in the Dadaab Camp in Kenya.
