Calls for Kenya's Ban on Plastic Bags to Be Lifted
The Kenya Association of Manufacturers say the ban, if implemented, would lead to loss of over 420,000 jobs and revenue to companies and the government. The ban, taking effect in September 2017, was gazetted in a bid to tackle the huge waste problem in the country that has become a real challenge to the environment.
