Two Petitions Challenge Kenyan President's Second Poll Win

Former Kilome Member of Parliament Harun Mwau and civil lawyers Njonjo Mue and Khelef Khalifa have cited the violation of constitutional provisions in the repeat poll as reasons for their petitions. They say polls boss Wafula Chebukati made "irrational, inconsistent and unpredictable decisions", especially in limiting the election to two candidates and amending the ballot later to include six others.

President Uhuru Kenyatta holds his certificate after he was announced winner of the repeat presidential election at the Bomas of Kenya in Nairobi October 30, 2017.
