Debt Still Secret, But Mozambique Govt Plans More
With crucial details of the U.S.$2 billion loan still secret, Mozambicans are paying the price as the Filipe Nyusi-led government plans to increase the internal public debt by at least U.S.$1,4 billion to finance the state budget. Mozambique's international partners have decided to suspend aid to the country for the third consecutive year, following reports of hidden debt in the public accounts.
