Disaster Plans Activated As Flooding Spreads Across Nigeria

With flooding spreading in many parts of Nigeria and more rain predicted, Nigeria's disaster management agency has activated a contingency plan to provide assistance to affected areas. President Buhari authorized declaration of a 'national disaster if conditions warrant. On Twitter, Buharu said "I have approved 3 billion Naira for the procurement of medical and relief materials to meet the needs of victims of the flooding. NEMA is also providing me with regular updates on the situation."
