Creating a Legal Framework for E-Commerce in Nigeria - 8th Senate

In response to the high volume of Nigerian businesses now advertising and selling their products online, the 8th Senate of Nigeria created the Electronic Transactions Bill to provide a legal and regulatory framework for conducting transactions using electronic or related media. The Bill, which as since been passed and signed into law, seeks to protect the rights of consumers/parties and their personal data as well as the facilitation of electronic commerce in Nigeria. The 8th Nigerian Senate has introduced the NS8 Chatbot, an online Artificial Intelligence (AI) - powered information service for Nigerians interested in the outgoing 8th Senate's activities, key interventions and achievements.

The 8th Senate of Nigeria passed and signed into law the Electronic Transactions Bill. The Bill provides a legal and regulatory framework for conducting transactions using electronic or related media.
