The African Export Import Bank has concluded the 26th annual meetings in Moscow - only the second time the sessions have been held outside of the continent. Titled Transforming Trade, sessions included discussions around the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), signed just weeks ago, whether some countries are heading for a debt crisis, and the launch of the bank's African Trade Report 2019: African Trade in a Digital World. Afreximbank's Professor Benedict Oramah, Executive Secretary of the UN Economic Commission for Africa Dr Vera Songwe and AU Commissioner for Trade and Industry Albert M. Muchanga present African Trade Report 2019: African Trade in a Digital World, launched in Moscow during the 26th Afreximbank Annual Meetings. It states that Africa’s total merchandise trade in 2018 had a value of over $997.9 billion, noting that the continent remained one of the fastest growing regions in the world.
