Kenya Flower Industry - Blooming or Wilting?
Kenya has for the longest time, enjoyed its position as one of the best flower exporting countries in the world, with a sunny climate enabling farmers to produce high quality blossoms all year round, without the need for expensive greenhouses. However today, the industry which employs more than 500,000 people and whch brought over U.S.$1 billion into State coffers in 2018, is in turmoil, writes Julius Sigei for Daily Nation.
