UN Agency Urges Refugees to Stay in South Africa

The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) has encouraged refugees and asylum seekers - who staged a sit-in protest outside the agency's offices in Cape Town for several weeks - to remain in the country despite their fears of xenophobic violence. This comes after the migrants were forcibly removed from the UNHCR offices in Cape Town.

Refugees are seen leaving while police cordon off the area.
