Lupita Learning to Speak Igbo, Pidgin English for Nigerian Role
In order to embody her role in an adaptation of Nigerian author Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie's novel, Americanah, Oscar-winning Kenyan actress Lupita Nyong'o has said that she is learning to speak Pidgin English and Igbo language. The novel tells the story of a young Nigerian woman, Ifemelu, who immigrates to the United States to attend university and her subsequent return to Lagos.
