Guess Who's Running Kenya's Meat Commission? The Army

The cash-strapped state firm will now be run by the military in a move aimed at boosting its operations and ensuring survival. The government-owned meat processor is operating below capacity and is grappling with an unreliable supply of raw material and an ageing plant, which has slowed down its operations. KMC is among 26 parastatals earmarked for sale to strategic investors by the Privatisation Commission. In March Kenyatta handed over the running of Nairobi City to an army official, Major General Mohammed Abdallah Badi, after Mike Sonko stepped aside as governor because of corruption charges.
