President Uhuru Kenyatta has created Nairobi Metropolitan Services which will take over the governance and administrative duties of Nairobi. Mike Sonko, the former governor, has stepped aside and is facing corruption charges. Major General Mohammed Abdallah Badi has been appointed director-general of Nairobi Metropolitan Service.
