Malawi's President Offers Welcome Map to International Investors

Appealing the international investors to seek opportunities in Malawi. President Lazarus Chakwera Chakwera said he has declared "zero tolerance" against corruption and plunder of public resources. During a webinar hosted by Invest Africa last month, Chakwera pointed to tourism, mining and energy as sectors ready for growth. Paul Hinks, who chairs Invest Africa US and served as one of the interviewers, writes that this little-noticed country in southern Africa has lots to offer savy investors. Chakwera told the webiner he is ready to welcome farmers from South Africa, where escalating rural violence has raised alarms in farming communities.
