Uganda's Opposition Leader Besigye Blocked From Leaving His Home

Ugandan police say they are keep the Forum for Democratic Change stalwart Kizza Besigye at home to ensure that he doesn't cause chaos in the city. Besigye was arrested meters away from his residence in Kasangati, Wakiso district, stopping his planned walk-to-work demonstration to protest against the escalating prices of goods in the country. He has since been kept under house arrest by police. The Forum for Democratic Change Women's League are protesting against the continued incarceration of their former president. The women, who carried placards and chanted FDC slogans, demanded his unconditional release.
