Investigate Darfur Killings by Rapid Support Forces - HRW Report

Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and allied Arab militias summarily executed at least 28 ethnic Massalit and killed and injured dozens of civilians on May 28, 2023, in Sudan's West Darfur state, according to a report issued by Human Rights Watch, adding that many of these abuses committed in the context of the armed conflict in Sudan amount to war crimes.

The report calls on the International Criminal Court to investigate the killings and appeals to the United Nations and African Union to "take meaningful action to address serious violations in Sudan". The protection of civilians and facilitation of aid delivery is the responsibility al all parties to the conflict, HRW says.
