No Quick Fix to Restore Internet Services After Africa Outage

A leading digital infrastructure service provider in West Africa, MainOne, has warned that repairing the undersea cable cut affecting Internet services in many parts of the region will take longer to complete. The company said in a statement that the steps to be taken include first identifying and assigning a vessel to retrieve the necessary spares required and then sailing to the fault location to conduct repair work. The outage hit many telecommunications service providers and other businesses at the end of last week.
