What South African Political Parties Say About Public Transport

Ahead of general elections in May, political parties have been engaging voters across the country on the various issues at stake, inlcudng the state of public transportation. Pundits say the upcoming polls will be the toughest for the governing African National Congress which has faced criticisms for doing little about the growing rate of unemployment, frequent power cuts and corruption. The GroundUp Media has been running a series, soliciting responses from the parties on how they will tackle the issues facing South Africans. Their latest edition is on public transportation.

"We emailed our questions to the ANC, DA, EFF, IFP, FF Plus, ActionSA, PA, MK Party, and RISE Mzansi," the paper said. While some of the parties opted for public transportation to be decentralised, others aren't so sure.
