It's Planet vs Plastics on Earth Day 2024

Earth Day 2024 adopts the theme "Planet vs. Plastics," focusing on the urgent need to address the health risks associated with plastic pollution and work towards phasing out single-use plastics.

Originating in the U.S. in 1970, Earth Day has evolved into a global movement, encompassing diverse events aimed at environmental awareness and action.

The amount of plastic waste produced each year is a staggering 430 million tons. This waste is causing pollution in landfills, rivers, oceans, and soil. In response to this threat, UN member states have set a goal to establish a legally binding agreement by 2024 in order to put an end to plastic pollution.
