Dark & Lovely Shampoo Recalled Due to Infection Risk
An urgent recall has been issued for the shampoo included in Dark and Lovely's Moisture Plus Relaxer (Regular and Super) and Anti-Breakage Relaxer kits.
The manufacturer, L'Oreal, has recalled the kits produced in April 2023 due to potential bacterial contamination in the included shampoo. This contamination could lead to scalp infections. The product has been distributed in South Africa, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Kenya, Ghana, Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho, Morocco, and Nigeria.
Despite the vital recall notice, some retailers in Zimbabwe, including a prominent pharmacy and tuckshops, are selling the product and said they are unaware of the potential risks.
