Outrage as Sungura Musician Dies During Zimbabwe Hospital Crisis

The death of Sungura musician Tatenda Pinjisi has sparked public outrage over Zimbabwe's deteriorating healthcare system, fueled by a viral video that showed him pleading for a basic painkiller and medical staff using phone flashlights during a power outage.

Tributes and questions around his death poured in after Pinjisi succumbed to injuries at Sally Mugabe Central Hospital after a car accident near the Norton Tollgate en route to Kadoma for a performance. The accident claimed three lives, including two band members and a woman passenger they had picked up at Harare Showgrounds.

Many of his fans took to social media to condemn what they described as the chronic shortages, poor planning, and corruption that plague the country's hospitals.

Musicians mourn Tatenda Pinjisi.
