Ghanaian Court Adjourns Trial of Former Finance Minister, Others

The High Court has adjourned the prosecution of former Ghanaian Finance Minister Kenneth Ofori-Atta and nine others to allow for the "service of summons" on other accused persons who are fugitives in the U.S.

The court announced that the new date for proceedings is February 26, 2026, saying that the summons must navigate "multiple jurisdictional paths". Earlier in January, Ofori-Atta was detained in the U.S. on immigration charges after Ghanaian authorities filed an extradition request for him to face corruption charges in Ghana.
