Dozens of MSF Staff Missing in South Sudan As Violence Escalates

The aid group Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) has expressed deep concern for the safety of dozens of staff members who remain "unaccounted for" after an attack on its facilities in early February. According to an MSF statement, these workers were part of a group of 291 personnel stationed at an MSF hospital in Jonglei State.

MSF reported that the facility was hit during an airstrike carried out by government forces.

"Beyond MSF being forced to suspend medical activities for approximately 250,000 people across the two locations, this crisis has directly affected the very health workers who were providing care to their communities," the statement read.
