Call for Malawi Officials to Be Fired Over Amaryllis Hotel Deal

President Peter Mutharika has been asked to dismiss Joseph Mwanamveka, the Minister of Finance, and Frank Mbeta, the Attorney General, and to suspend George Partridge, Governor of the Reserve Bank of Malawi, over their alleged links to the controversial Amaryllis Hotel deal.

The luxury hotel purchase by the Public Service Pension Trust Fund has become an explosive public finance controvers, and is currently under investigation by the Public Accounts Committee of Parliament.
