Africa Moves to Unify on Global Health Reforms #WHSNairobi2026

The World Health Summit in Nairobi has brought together global health officials and African leaders to push for coordinated, systemwide reforms across the continent's health systems.

At the summit, the African Centers for Disease Control and Prevention established the African High-Level Ministerial Committee on Global Health Architecture Reform (AHLMC) to strengthen Africa's voice on global health governance and financing reforms.

The initiative aims to coordinate the continent's position on key processes such as pandemic preparedness, international health regulations, and health financing. The summit comes at a time when African governments are under mounting pressure to decrease their dependence on aid and finance their own health programs.
