Death Toll from Floods Climbs - Kenya's Eastern Region Worst Hit

Kenya's Ministry of Interior has said the Eastern region recorded the highest number of fatalities with nine deaths, followed by the Central region, Coast, Nairobi, and Rift Valley.

''As of May 2, 2026, a total of 18 fatalities have been recorded nationwide, most of them linked to drowning,'' the ministry said.

Heavy rains continue to batter multiple regions of Kenya.
