Veteran political negotiator Roelf Meyer has presented his credentials to President Donald Trump on Thursday, making him the new South African ambassador to the US at a time when political relations between the two countries have been frosty.
President Cyril Ramaphosa has appointed Roelf Meyer to be the country's next ambassador to the United States. The post had been vacant since 2025.
