Tema, Ghana — SW Global, one of Africa's fastest growing software companies based in Tema, Ghana, has been selected to be the subject of a world-class documentary on the power of the entrepreneur and technology to revolutionize Africa. The film is being produced and directed by Highest Common Denominator Media (HCM) with initial funding from the Skoll Foundation and the Sundance Institute.

"We don't sell software; we sell total solutions to digitally manage operations of government, healthcare and education institutions. As Africans trained in the United States, we know the power of technology to transform lives, but likewise, know how to design applications that make sense on the Continent," explained Anthony Nwachukwu, SW Global's Chief Operating Officer.

In 2003, Dr. Aloy Chife, the CEO of SW Global, a US-trained Executive with Apple Computer, returned to his home country of Nigeria and started Socketworks Limited in Nigeria with the initial backing of the International Finance Corporation. Socketworks focused on the automation of the educational sector in Nigeria. Subsequently, Dr. Chife started SW Global to take the concept of using technology as a tool for the development of Government institutions across Africa. SW Global today operates in Nigeria, Ghana, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Uganda, Kenya, South Africa, India, and Sri Lanka.

Highest Common Denominator Media Group leverages the global reach of its principals and of the electronic media, and its creative and compelling storytelling and filmmaking capabilities to identify, dramatize and distribute stories of real people the world over whose stories illuminate our highest common denominator. The film will be directed by Jonathan Stack, a multiple Emmy Award-winning and two-time Academy Award nominated documentary filmmaker.

The Sundance Institute develops and discovers independent artists and connects them to audiences.

The Skoll Foundation, created by eBay founder Jeff Skoll in 1999, supports large-scale change by investing in, connecting and celebrating social entrepreneurs and other innovators dedicated to solving the world's most pressing problems. "The selection of SW Global is truly an honor. We hope that our story draws positive light on the Continent and shows that Africa can be an incubator for ideas and innovation," said Dr. Aloy Chife. "We feel privileged to be working with award winning Director Jonathan Stack and have won the confidence of the Skoll Foundation, whose leadership on social entrepreneurship is recognized the world-over."
