Oduoza, UBA GMD Bags Fellowship of Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education

In recognition of his sterling contribution to Nigeria's economic development and the progress of humanity, the Group Managing Director/Chief Executive officer, Mr. Phillips Oduoza has been conferred with Fellowship of the Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education (AOCOED), Otto-Ijanikin, Lagos State. The award was conferred on Mr. Oduoza at the 29th, 30th and 31st Joint Convocation of the College.

Oduoza was honoured alongside Honourable Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Diaspora and Fr. Godfrey Nzamujo, Chairman, Shongai Limited, Port Novo. They become the second set of awardees in the over fifty-three years of the College to be conferred with this prestigious honour of the College, the first recipient being His Excellency, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the immediate past Governor of Lagos State.

Chairman of the Governing Council, AOCOED, Mrs. Victoria Adedamola Akran who presented the award to Oduoza at the event, said the AOCOED Fellowship was in celebration of the UBA GMD's achievements as one of Nigeria and indeed, Africa's business leaders who have performed exceedingly well in their various endeavours. "The Fellowship award is in recognition of Oduoza's contribution to the progress of humanity and promotion of excellence in Nigeria's financial services industry," she added.

In his response, the UBA GMD/CEO, who was represented at the occasion by the Executive Director, South Bank, Mr. Rasheed Olaoluwa, thanked the Governing Council of the College for the honour noting that the remarkable contribution of AOCOED in the educational development of Lagos State, Nigeria and indeed other West African countries cannot be over emphasized.

"This prestigious Fellowship Award is truly deserving and an inspiration to future generations of Nigeria. I wish to express my profound gratitude to the Governing Council for this honour. Let me also state that I am proud to be associated with this great institution," he said.

Phillips Oduoza commenced his banking career in 1987. His experience in Banking cuts across key units such as Operations, IT, Commercial/Consumer Banking, Private Banking, Treasury, Strategic Planning, Financial Control, Human Resources and Regional Businesses, and he led most cross-functional teams. His strength is in execution, talent management, technology integration and lean banking.
