The government says it has already received one thousand applications for positions at the Kenya Broadcasting Corporation even before it advertises the posts perceived to have been vacated by the public broadcaster's striking work force.

Information permanent secretary DR. Bitange Ndemo said that all KBC staff who will not have reported to work by Monday morning will receive their sacking letters.

The workers have however stood their ground saying they will not return to work until all their grievances are addressed. Andrew Ochieng reports on the industrial action that has severely hampered the state broadcaster's operations.
