The Kenya Broadcasting Corporation strike has finally been called off today.

KBC members of staff made the decision to end their industrial action after hours of a closed door meeting with Information Minister Samuel Poghisio and his permanent secretary dr. Bitange Ndemo.

The government says it will address the grievances raised including setting up a team to audit the workforce and the corporation's accounts and equipment along with raising salaries and allowances.

The government has also revoked the decision to fire all the staff that had not reported to work by 8 a.m. this morning. Andrew Ochieng reports.
