Kenyan Teachers' Strike Causes Rifts in Govt

Senior government officials appeared to be speaking at cross purposes on how to resolve the ongoing teachers' strike. Finance Minister Njeru Githae once again failed to appear before Parliament's Education Committee which is seeking ways to end the strike with treasury officials saying the Minister needed more time to consult and would appear before the committee on Tuesday next week. But Education Minister Mutula Kilonzo took exception to this, saying pupils and students cannot wait until Tuesday to know whether they would classes or no.
