The Hague process is unstoppable. That is Prime Minister Raila Odinga's message to his two key rivals in the Kibaki succession contest, William Ruto and Uhuru Kenyatta, even as they fine-tune a joint ticket, despite the crimes-against-humanity charges awaiting them at the international court.

Odinga chided Kenyatta and Ruto for attempting to clinch the presidency to insulate them from prosecution at the International Criminal Court, but was quick to assure them that he would push for the return of the cases to the Kenyan soil, if elected president. As Francis Gachuri reports, Ruto has maintained that the Kalenjin community had long moved on, and that he had no intention of teaming up with Odinga in next year's race to State House.
