South Africa's Conviction Rates for Domestic and Sexual Violence are Amongst the Lowest in the World

According to the People Opposing Women Abuse, South Africa's conviction rates for domestic and sexual violence are amongst the worst in the world. In South Africa only one in nine victims report rape and fewer than ten per cent reported rapes lead to convictions.

The gruesome rape and mutilation that caused the death of Anene Booysen recently further highlighted the need to take a stand against rape. SABC's Morning live speaks to POWA's Mbali Mabogo.
